It all started in 2007, on the other side of the world!
A young man from Co. Down bumps into a young woman from Co. Kildare in sun kissed Australia… After a few attempts, Paul finally wore her down and Yvonne agreed to go to dinner.
From here, their relationship began it’s journey and grew throughout their stay in Australia. Then came time to come home to the Emerald Isle. Although living hundreds of miles apart, Yvonne & Paul continued their relationship long distance when home.
In 2011, they decided to build their own home. Trying to make decisions over the phone and on weekends started to prove difficult, so, in August of 2012, Yvonne made the decision to move north of the border.
With the house “nearly” done, and the fear of possible boredom in sight, on the 23rd of February 2013, Paul’s birthday, they took a trip to the giants causeway. While there, at the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge, Paul popped the question!! “It was the easiest answer I’d ever given, said Yvonne, and it was around this time the slight addiction to champagne began!”
They went to view their potential wedding venue and ended up setting the date for their wedding and moving into their new home all on the one day.
“We set the date for exactly 18 months after we got engaged and so were married on August 23rd 2014. Planning the day was, in my opinion, a lot of fun and quite easy as every single person and business I dealt with were amazing to deal with. Everyone was so helpful, friendly, easy going and laid back, and with me being quite laid back (and forgetful) it’s a wonder we ever got to the day but, we did with the help of our amazing friends and families and we had an absolute ball.
I am no expert, but, if I was to offer any advice it would be – do it your way, regardless, because you won’t please everyone so just please yourselves!
Don’t stress or at least try keep it to a minimum, It’s really not worth it! Book your cars early!!! And ONE HUNDRED PERCENT have a videographer….I know so many people who didn’t have one and now regret it. I absolutely LOVE looking back at our video….there’s parts of the day you will forget or you just won’t get to see and this is when your video is priceless!!!”
Yvonne & Paul’s incredible journey will continue this coming September with the arrival of their first child and so will start a new journey in their lives! A massive congratulations to you both and we wish you the very best of luck on this new adventure for you.
So from us all here at Frame It, we thank you for having us there to share your wedding day with you, and for sharing your journey with us.
Yvonne & Paul had these very kind words to say about Frame It Weddings: “We are extremely happy with the results (especially the guest interviews…just priceless)!!!
