“Autumnal”……….This is how Debbie described the feel she wanted her wedding
day to portray when we first met!
And, that is exactly the feeling i got as I walked into the Manor House of
Palmerstown House Estate in Johnstown, Naas, Co.Kildare on the morning of the wedding.
This stunning location, set on over 700 acres, was transformed into the autumnal
wonderland that Debbie and Gordon had dreamt of.
Both Debbie and Gordon prepared for the day ahead in the beautiful rooms of the Manor House.
I called to see Gordon first and he and his groomsmen were in high spirits preparing to get into
their suits from Collar and Cuff in Glasnevin, Dublin.
I then made my way over to Debbie who was on the other side of the house. She looked stunning

Debbie and Gordon had a humanist ceremony, celebrated by Tina Storey of the humanist association
of Ireland. It was a beautiful, intimate ceremony which moved many of the guests throughout.
Florist Maurice Wynne from Mad Flowers had a stunning arrangement of flowers and autumn leafs
either side of the aisle as Debbie walked towards her soon the be husband, Gordon.
The ceremony music was performed by Allan White, Alan Skelly and the incredible vocals of Lucia Evans.
After the ceremony Debbie and Gordon spent some time at the drinks reception with their family and friends.
Shortly after, we started to make our way around the Manor House capturing images and memories of
Debbie and Gordon with their family, bridal party and friends.
From there, everyone moved over to the reception room for the meal and speeches before sharing in their first dance and rocking the night away to the band, Loose Change.
Some words from Debbie and Gordon:
The staff at Palmerstown House were incredible, particularly Kevin, Marian, James and Declan. From the very first day we met them, when the house was in the midst of renovation, we knew it was the venue for us. They made us and our guests feel so welcome and comfortable in surroundings which were far from where we were brought up!! We have received so many compliments from the intimacy of the ceremony to the hijinks of the reception and much of that is a credit to the team and the guidance they gave us throughout the planning and on the day itself. Gordon proposed at home on Christmas Eve, 2013. We booked Palmerstown House at the end of May and we were married on 1st November 2014 and although it wasn’t quite a “shotgun” wedding, the ease at which we were able to plan this in such a short amount of time was down to the team. We have also received so, so many compliments about our photographs. Les listened to us and captured exactly what we were hoping for, candid and intimate photos which will last a lifetime, long after the memories have faded. Thank you!
